A Consultant Neurocritical Care, also known as a neurointensivist, is a highly specialized medical professional who is trained in the management and care of critically ill patients with neurological conditions. These professionals are typically neurologists or neurosurgeons who have completed additional fellowship training in neurocritical care.

Post-Operative Neurosurgical Care : Patients who have undergone complex neurosurgical procedures may need intensive care to manage post-operative complications.
The consultant neurocritical care works as part of a multidisciplinary team, which may include neurosurgeons, neurologists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists. They are responsible for coordinating the patient's care, making critical medical decisions, interpreting neuroimaging and monitoring data, and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
